LANDSCAPE brings together photographs made across Scotland and Aotearoa New Zealand, grounded in the lived experience of being in the land.

The work moves through mountains, lochs, coastlines, volcanic ground and open water, where weather, light, distance and changing conditions shape how each place is seen.

Each photograph begins in that encounter, with the landscape emerging through sustained looking and time spent there. Conditions change, relationships shift, and quieter moments gather attention and depth. The landscape is not simply a scene to be captured, but something we sit with and absorb.

These photographs remain connected to the moments and places in which they were made, while also carrying the distance between then and now. Memory, return and later reworking alter the encounter without severing it from its source. Across the work, landscape becomes something lived through, held over time and continually re-seen.
